A: The first step is deciding why you want to update your kitchen. Do you want a new kitchen to increase space? or make it more usable? Or you may just want to update the space to make it your own. Once you know the reason, you can begin gathering ideas.
Q: Where do I get ideas?
A: Kitchen ideas come from many sources such as home improvement television shows, idea books, and magazines. I advise my clients to pull photos out of magazines that show styles they like, even if they are not all the same. Circle the parts of kitchens they find interesting. Keep putting these photos & ideas into a folder. Eventually you will see a dominate style emerge that will define your direction.
